The Automated Filter Scanner Test System AFS 150 is designed to meet the requirements of testing air filters according to EN1822-4 = leackage test/filterscan and EN 1822-5 = integral separation efficiency test (analogous ISO 29463-4/ -5) with a high grade of automatisation. Main components of the test rig for testing high efficiency particulate air filters (EPA, HEPA, ULPA) are:
- Air flow system with flow rate measurement and inlet filter
- Filter holder cabinet
- Upstream particle instrumentation (Aerosol Generator ATM 220, particle counter with Aerosol Dilution System DIL 550)
- Scanning traverse with downstream sampling probe, particle counter (optional air velocity probe)
- Electrics, PLC control and Windows software
Depending on dimensions of filters under control, lot size, personal resources, and further conditions at the customer side the appropriate version of filter testing system can be chosen:
- The Adapter Filter Holder Test Rig AFS 150 consists of a testing chamber, in which the filter gets clamped against an adapter plate.
Changeover to an other filter size only needs a change of the adapter plate.
Handling of big filter dimensions is considerably facilitated by rolls that allow easy slide of the sample filter into the testing chamber.
- The Manual Filter Scanner AFS 152 can be integrated into existing leackage testing systems subsequently. The sampling probe is moved manually over the whole filter or the sections under control. By means of a particle counter the leackege detection is carried out. This method provides more certainty and accuracy than alternatively used methods. The user-friendly software, available for all scanner versions, determines and records the clean gas particle concentration, coordinates of sampling probe and scanning velocity.
- Optional accessory is the Filter Media Tester AFS 153 for testing of efficiency of flat sheet filter media according to EN 1822-3 (analogous ISO 29463-3).
