New Job Opportunity – EMS Software Engineer

LAF Technologies is a leading national supplier of laboratory equipment, particle and environmental monitoring systems (EMS) and instruments for clean rooms, laboratories and other facilities. Our EMS (environmental monitoring system) division is expanding and is seeking to employ the services of a full time EMS Software Engineer who will be ideally located in our Bayswater, Melbourne head office. The company will remunerate the successful applicant for their services at a rate to be discussed / negotiated.

Position Overview

  • System analysis, design and implementation of our Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS)
  • Supporting and maintaining our EMS Systems
  • Managing and implementing changes systems and coordinating with customers to perform updates, customization or any other requirement changes
  • Liaising with various suppliers and partners across the globe as required
  • Development of technical documentation for general design, custom programs and system issues
  • Developing In-house technical guides and user manuals to assist the end users of the system
  • Act as a point of contact for the technical support of these system
  • Assist in validation of these GMP level computer systems as per PE-009 Annex 11 (PIC’s/Guide)

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience with SCADA platforms, ideally Schneider Electric ClearSCADA / Citect SCADA framework and VBscript.Net
  • Databases experience with SQL
  • Software development and programming experience with one or more of the following languages – Java, PHP, Python, C#, HTML, CSS, JS
  • Good experience with Windows Server
  • Capable of using computers & Microsoft office

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with building management and control systems
  • Project management – Lean management, Kanban, Prince2 or Similar
  • Windows Active Directory, Powershell Scripting
  • Experience with Virtual Machines
  • Experience with CRM Systems

Essential Qualifications

  • A Graduate or Post-Graduate Degree in Computer Science, IT or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, design and code
  • Experience with industrial data communication – ideally MODBUS and OPC
  • Networking experience including LAN, WAN and VPN’s
