This new testing capability plays a vital role in maintaining compliance with the OGTR (Office of the Gene Technology Regulator) guidelines for physical containment certification. The importance of this testing was underscored by training from one of the nation’s leading biosecurity experts, emphasising its role in:

Key Insights into Air Leakage Testing:
Retesting Frequency Requirements:
- OGTR PC3 (Physical Containment Level 3): Testing is required every 5 years, or as recommended by AS2243.3 standards.
- DA QC5.3 Requirements: Testing is mandatory every 3 years, or after any modifications that could compromise seal integrity.
Additionally, our team is equipped to provide structural repair assistance in cases where damage impacts containment integrity. Positive pressure testing is a reliable way to ensure your facility meets pressure leakage requirements after repairs.
To comply with stringent guidelines, each room must achieve:
- An air leakage rate of no more than 120L/min at a differential pressure of 200 Pa during commissioning or post-refurbishment.
This testing ensures that your facility remains secure, especially in environments where containment is critical, such as biosecurity and biotechnology facilities.
