UVC In-Duct Air Disinfection for Launceston General Hospital, Pandemic Planning Project

Laftech has recently supplied UV-DUCT-FL units to the Launceston General Hospital project for the operating theatre upgrade.

The UV-DUCT-FL is designed and manufactured by Light Progress of Italy and were delivered in Jan’21 for this project. They will be installed by Degree C, inside the ventilation ducting to disinfect the ducted air servicing the operating theatres.

The UV-DUCT-FL will treat the air passing through the ducting with a high dosage of Ultraviolet UVC rays. Microorganisms that are exposed to this UVC ray will have its DNA/RNA damaged rendering it inactive. Disinfection levels of 99.9% or higher can be achieved with this technology.

Benefits to the customer:

  • Reliability – designed to operated 24/7.
  • Lamps rated for 18,000 hours of continuous operation.
  • Microorganisms do not develop resistance to UVC unlike chemicals.
  • Made in Italy, stock and spares available in Australia.
